BABIES in da hizzle.
My eggs hatched! Well, not my eggs I guess, but Mrs Robins eggs hatched yesterday morning.
I go out to check on the nest every morning to make sure everyone is fine & dandy and that there hasn’t been any wrong doings over night. Yesterday.. Mia & I went to look through the boards of the deck and we saw the whole thing unfold. Itty bitty babies emerging from their pretty blue shells. All pink and new.
We let them be and let mama do her work. When I came back and did my afternoon rounds, the nest had been cleaned and it looks like 3 out of the 4 birds survived. I think.
It was awesome. Mia was fascinated and I am just trying to leave them be and let the mama and daddy feed these little guys. They are hungry!! Each time we go to check and make sure the nest is there (every few hours) because it has been SO DAMN WINDY!.. we get little wide open mouths staring back at us.
I am in love with this little science project right under our very deck.

Who says Worcester is a concrete jungle? You have a little nature, literally, right in your own backyard. Very, very cool.

That is so exciting!!
We have two eggs as of today…I can only hope that our robin’s eggs do as well as yours. We have a much harder time seeing in the nest. It’s so much fun
P.S. I worry about the wind too…scary
