“I” …INCUBATING.
For the last few years we’ve had a little bird nest under our deck. Every year, new little baby birds are born. Sometimes you have to duck and take cover because the birds are vicious and want you no where near the nest, and it’s hard to even go in the back yard. This year, the birds are pretty tame and we have four little robin eggs in the nest. We check on them every day and the mommy and daddy bird keep a close eye on us from the distant trees. I had to take this pic through the boards of the deck… it’s too high up and under cover and we didn’t want to disturb the little eggs or annoy the parents to be.
Mama Bird and her humble abode.

We had a robin’s nest out front a few weeks ago. Rob found two of the eggs on the ground, one broken. He put the other back, leaving two in the nest. I checked on them from time to time and then one day they were both gone! Maybe next time the mama and daddy bird will find some where less obvious as a bush in front of the house to build their nest.
Happy chirping!

That’s an amazing photo. We had a mother robin building a nest right in the rhododendron outside our kitchen window. She was there every day working hard on the nest and then for three days she didn’t show. Today she was back, no eggs. Not sure what she is up to. We were worried until we saw her today. Have fun watching and waiting…it’s so exciting !!! (My boys think I’m crazy…they say I need a hobby

That totally reminds me of this kid in my neighborhood when I was growing up… Andy I think his name was…. My friend Angela had a little nest with a little blue egg in it just like that…I think it fell out of a tree or something… can’t remember….well, I guess Andy thought the Easter Bunny had dropped that egg off for him…. yup… he popped it into his mouth and he ate the whole thing.. YUCK!
