A is APRON ….
Here’s an A for the road. Since the ABC along changes to B tomorrow.. but you know I got a sewing machine for my birthday and I tried a few things here and there.. fought with that bobbin and cursed at it. But eventually… after many of errors, this is what I made.
I sewed up a reversible apron and for my first go of pretty much ANYTHING other than a pillowcase…a fun little denim/cotton print reversible with a fancy little pocket.
I sent Holly a themed birthday gift this year. She’s a busy mom of two who works full time and long awkward hours. So, together we thought she needs to implement the miracle of THE CROCK POT. Along with the apron, she got a cookbook and a recipe organizer. I’m sure she thought she was going to get something hand knit..not this year. So…. thats my hot off the new singer to start off 08. I have a few others things in mind, but man.. that bobbin thread wants to make me drink. (even more!)
So.. who’s watching the football game tomorrow. GO PATRIOTS!

I love the apron! I had to laugh…that was my very 1st sewing project when I was 10 at the Girls Club, and we didn’t use a pattern…I want to make a few for gifts next year, but my sewing machine is buried somewhere in the closet covered in dust!
Go Pats! And don’t you just love that 70’s scarf …get out the Roller Skates……I’m working on my white scrunchable scarf during the game today….still lovin the Berocco Comfort yarn….

Hey! Lovely apron (found you via stat-tracking - I’m always finding new blogs that way). Anyway - regarding the bobbin, I’m SURE you’ve already thought of this, but just in case you hadn’t, there are a couple keys to making sure the bobbin sews properly: 1) making sure that the bobbin is inserted into the machine so that the thread is spinning in the proper direction - usually being pulled in the opposite direction of the spool so that it forms a sort of “s” when you pull it and 2) making sure that the little “flap” on the metal bobbin case isn’t screwed on too tightly or loosely - this actually controls the tension of the bobbin thread when you’re sewing. Check your owner’s manual (as dreadfully scarey as they appear); it can be incredibly useful with this stuff.
